Discover the value of a Stansz system. Find out how quickly your investment pays off.

St. Jansdal Hospital in Harderwijk chose an integrated waste and linen logistics system from Stansz during the expansion of its facilities. In collaboration with IAA Architecten, the waste chute and collection area were designed to automate the transport of waste and linen from the wards to the central collection point.

In a hospital environment, hygiene, safety, and efficiency are crucial. Manual transport of waste or contaminated linen increases the risk of cross-contamination, slows down workflows, and leads to extra traffic through corridors and elevators.

During the expansion of St. Jansdal, the focus was on creating a separated and closed logistics process that meets the high standards of the healthcare sector.

The result

  • Hygienic disposal without manual handling.
  • Efficient use of space: fewer internal transport movements and lower operational costs.
  • Future-proof design: the system supports St. Jansdal’s sustainability ambitions and aligns with Paris Proof principles.

For architects
A waste chute is not only a technical solution but also a design choice that contributes to a cleaner, safer, and better-organized healthcare environment. By integrating the system early in the design process, architects can:

  • optimize logistics flows,
  • separate hygiene zones more effectively,
  • and add value to the overall building performance.

Stansz supports architects and consultants at every stage of the design process, from concept to execution, with customized solutions for waste and linen logistics.
