In a high-tech production environment, a disruptive waste stream is the last thing you want. This was also the case at FrieslandCampina, where a by-product—milk powder—caused unwanted interruptions in part of the production process. The challenge? To ensure a controlled, hygienic, and efficient disposal of the powder within an existing factory setup, without airflows or manual handling interfering with operations.
Together with the FrieslandCampina team, Stansz developed an innovative chute solution fully tailored to the space, the process, and the site’s safety requirements.
A Solution That Fits the Factory
The chute developed by Stansz was custom-designed for this specific situation. It runs downward from the upper floor and measures 4 meters in length. The top section extends about 1 meter above the floor and includes a sturdy hatch for easy insertion of waste bags.
The rest of the system is made of RVS 304 stainless steel and features a square cross-section of 550 x 500 mm—robust, hygienic, and built for intensive use. At the bottom, an electric slide gate and a curved outlet ensure that the milk powder is safely directed toward storage. A potential connection to a container is still being explored in consultation.

Custom-Made for the Lab
For a laboratory space within the same factory, one additional requirement was crucial: preventing air displacement. That’s why a compact chute with a so-called roll inlet was installed. This design creates a kind of airlock effect—ideal for environments where no airflows may occur.
In addition, the system can be linked to access control, and the input automatically stops when the container is full. This makes the solution not only safe, but also smartly designed for everyday use.
