Smart logistics in hotels: why a chute is more than a pipe in the wall
A hotel room is left spotless every day: tightly made bedding, fresh towels; everything is ready for the next guest. What most guests don’t see is the logistics behind it. How does the used linen actually get back to the laundry so quickly? A modern hotel is all about efficiency – not only for the guests, but also behind the scenes.
That’s where the chute comes in. A smart, vertical solution that effortlessly transports used linen from floor to collection room. Without linen carts in the corridor & without delays caused by full elevators. Especially in hotels with multiple floors, a chute offers structural time savings, less physical strain for staff and a quieter and cleaner working environment.
For hotel chains like Marriott, this is not a luxury, but a logical step in optimizing their internal processes. And this is precisely why a solution from Stansz was chosen for the construction of the Marriott Residence Inn in Ghent.

Marriott Residence Inn opts for Stansz
Stansz’s linen chutes are now taking flight abroad. Commissioned by Cordeel (Temse), the new Marriott Residence Inn in Ghent will be equipped with a linen chute from Stansz in September 2019.
The system ensures that all linen from the four floors is discharged vertically directly to the central collection area. This results in an efficient and energy-efficient solution by eliminating the need to use elevators for linen logistics.
