Hotel The Ald opts for smart linen logistics from Stansz
When you design or manage a hotel, you think primarily about experience, comfort and efficiency. But behind the scenes is a world of logistics that often doesn’t get attention until things go wrong…. Take linen handling. In many hotels, linen is still transported manually by wire carts through narrow corridors, elevators and doors. The result? Annually recurring damage to walls, floors and doorways.
These are costs you’d rather avoid. A well-designed chute system offers a smart solution for this: safe, hygienic and without unnecessarily burdening the staff or building. With a chute, you get peace of mind in your internal logistics and avoid invisible costs that would otherwise recur every year.
Commissioned by Bouwbureau Bakels en Ouwerkerk B.V. (BOBGroup), we incorporated a linen chute during the renovation of the General Printing Works into Hotel The Ald. This new hotel concept by LBG Hotels has been open to guests since early 2025. The hotel has 91 rooms, with luxury spa bathroom or mezzanine. From 4 floors, laundry can now be discharged directly to the laundry room located on the first floor. The linked control system ensures that only 1 insertion door can be opened at all times and that the system can be blocked when changing containers.
